The all-new Claud Butler Wrath 2.0 electric mountain bike has a strong motor, elegant integrated battery, and contemporary geometry, the all-new Claud Butler Wrath 2.0 electric mountain bike is prepared to take on a weekend in the woods, take a diversion on the daily commute, or explore the kilometres of towpath in style.
Over 40 miles/65 km of help can be obtained from the well-integrated 540wh battery while you explore new ground, and the upgraded Bafang rear hub motor provides steady power distribution and up to 45nm of torque, which is sufficient to ease the pain of even the steepest slopes. High-quality Samsung cells are used in the battery, which is simple to remove without the need for tools and charge on or off the bike in just six hours. It has the extra protection of
With five power assistance settings, an easy-to-read display, a straightforward system, and an abundance of information to track your ride, including battery level, current speed, average speed, maximum speed, trip distance, and trip time, the Wrath 2.0 is a great ride. We installed a walk assist mode, which engages the motor to assist in pulling the bike up steep hills, to make things easier while you’re not riding.
However, we didn’t give the battery and motor our whole attention. With its powerful Tektro hydraulic disc brakes and extremely dependable Shimano Deore 1×10 speed wide-range gearing with an 11-42T cassette, the Wrath 2.0 offers confidence-inspiring control. A 100mm travel suspension fork with hydraulic lock out and a chic Selle Royal saddle have been installed for further comfort.
For individuals who like maximum grip, comfort, and efficiency, 29-inch mountain bike wheels are the preferred size. For this reason, we’ve selected ultra wide 29×2.4 CST Patrol tyres with a tan wall finish for a classic modern-retro style. You may be sure that we will take care of you whether you need help navigating through rocks and roots or just exploring the terrain in and around the town.
A Bafang rear hub motor with a torque output of up to 45 Nm powers the Wrath 2.0. At the upper end, I thought it was really good, and even when I rode up 15% inclines, I never felt like it was lacking power. My only complaint was the small delay that occurred between pedalling and the assistance starting. Living in an area where roads are cut into the sides of hills means that if you’re starting a journey from a junction at an incline of 10%, you better have something to help you immediately, or else you might find yourself having some difficulty.
There are five assistance levels available on the Wrath 2.0. At the top end, the motor did really well to combat some of the monstrous headwinds. These assist levels are changed via the handlebar mounted display. On there you can change the view to see your speed, distance, and the usual ride metrics. It’s not the flashiest, but it works – there’s also a walk assist feature, which proves handy.
Claud Butler estimates a range of up to 40 miles on one charge, and based off of my experience I’d say that’s pretty doable – particularly if you’re a bit more conservative with the assistance and the battery is removable which makes charging easier if you don’t want to drag your bike close to a plug socket.
The Wrath 2.0 comes with a 10-speed Shimano Deore groupset. There are far more expensive e-bikes that use Deore. The brakes are from Tektro, specifically their M275 hydraulic disc brakes with a 180mm front rotor and 160mm on the rear.
The forks offer 100mm of travel, with the lockout option when switching between road and bridleway. They are top end forks, and they did a great job of keeping the ride quality quite smooth over most bumps.
